Introduction:
Outbound marketing also known as traditional marketing works on the push principle of marketing. It means promoting one’s business or services by going to the customers rather than waiting for the customers to come to you.
Examples:
You can do the same by various offline or online means like-
- Advertisements,
- Display banners,
- Forceful emailing with purchase lists,
- Distribution of physical pamphlet’s,
- Cold calling,
- Door to door visits,
- Trade events, exhibitions,
- Seminars,
- Telemarketing, etc.
Explanation:
Outbound Marketing used to be and still is the most used type of marketing, you don’t believe me open up your mobile messaging app or your mail and look at the number of spam messages. Marketing of this type is a good way to reach volumes of customers but its not necessarily the best way to convert those customers into leads. This type of marketing in combination with Inbound Marketing and can be a great tool to use in today’s time.
Conclusion:
In the 21st Century Outbound Marketing might be the most used type of marketing but it isn’t the most productive one, on its own in terms of conversion rates. Although when used in a hybrid format with Inbound Marketing it can do wonders.
We will talk about Inbound Marketing in the next post, till then stay tuned!!
